Forming an integral part of the broader group of companies, its asset integrity advisory business is seeking a technically focused Senior Electrical Engineer to play a crucial role in the continued growth and success of the business, with a clearly defined pathway to a Principal Engineer position.
Based in Newcastle, this is a newly created position forming part of the specialist high voltage (HV) testing team, who undertake testing, repair and life-cycle management of HV assets across the power, utilities and mining sectors. Known for their high level of technical capability, you will join this team to further craft your HV testing skill set and be mentored by an expert in the field.
Your core focus will be to perform HV testing at customer sites and in the laboratory to ensure quality, specification and legislative requirements. You will undertake detailed report writing and condition assessments of HV plant, working closely with customers to improve and maintain their asset’s performance. You will also have the opportunity to spend a portion of your time undertaking research and development and play an active role in technical forums including CIGRE Australia.
This opportunity is targeted towards a HV electrical engineer with a desire to be an expert in their field. You will have significant HV systems design and testing experience, which would ideally include partial discharge, winding resistance, insulation condition or dielectric loss angle (DLA) testing. As the position is a source of knowledge for both customers and the broader team, you will have an ability to communicate, mentor and influence others. With technical report writing being a key component of the position, you will have high level written communication skills.
