Little Athletics NSW is one of Australia’s leading junior sporting brands and organisations. It is a dynamic, evolving, not-for-profit that provides an excellent modified athletics program for children of all abilities between 3-16 years old. It is a foundational sports program designed to teach activities and skills to children that will stand them in good stead for their future fitness goals.

Community-driven and family-focused, Little Athletics NSW strongly encourages parents to be involved as volunteers and for them to share in their child’s experience, in addition Little Athletics NSW is involved with a wide range of sponsors, motivational programs, and community support initiatives. Established for more than 50 years and currently boasting over 36,000 members in 190 centres, Little Athletics NSW is now seeking a passionate CEO to champion its vision to become the established “sport of choice” in NSW.

As the public face of this vibrant and active organisation, the CEO will provide leadership, direction and overall management of all activities, business operations and services of Little Athletics NSW. In addition, the CEO will be tasked with raising the profile of the organisation, engaging with key stakeholders, pioneering strategic direction and driving future advancements and the growth of Little Athletics NSW.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be required to co-develop and implement the strategic vision for Little Athletics NSW and work with the Little Athletics NSW Management Team to communicate and execute the vision and direction. The CEO will also be responsible for the sustained financial success of the organisation through engaging with external organisations seeking long-term sponsorship opportunities and other secure revenue streams.  Passionate about the growth, development and well-being of youth, the CEO will develop strategies to increase the current participant base and seek to develop inclusive opportunities for athletes of all ages, genders and cultures.

This role requires a dynamic leader with strong communication skills who is able to engage with diverse stakeholder groups and demonstrate the ability to develop and nurture key relationships within the athletics community, including committees, coaches, officials, volunteers and administrators.

To be considered for this role you will have a track record in strategic leadership, staff and operational management with a focus on member services. An understanding of the state and national sporting landscape and an understanding and appreciation of athletics will be an advantage, but it is not a necessity; however you must be committed to building strong foundations for the growth of the sport in NSW.

Individual qualities of confidence, commitment and “big picture” thinking should be supported by relevant tertiary qualifications as well as experience at a senior management level preferably within the sports sector.
